Each good deed the believer does is for him, he gets his reward from Allah by ten up to seven-hundred folds, except fasting - fasting is for me, I will reward you for it!
Allah will reward you for that!!
For example, your father says to you if you do that I will give you this and he gives you something more than you deserve, he rewards you abundantly.
For Allah is the supreme example, nothing can be compared to His generosity. Allah سبحانه وتعالى said, the deeds you do He rewards you for it, the degree of reward is somewhat known to us, however when it comes to fasting, because you left your food, your desires etc. for Allah's sake...for that Allah will reward you for it!
We cannot comprehend it, imagine, this is Allah saying He is going to reward you for it. It's not a father, a king, the one in charge etc. IT'S ALLAH!
