Ibn Masood رضي الله عنه was once climbing a date palm tree to get some dates from the tree. He was a very skinny companion and these trees are very high.
Unlike today, trousers were not commonly worn then, furthermore he was a poor sahaabi. He climbed up and the other companions were underneath. They looked at him and started laughing.
The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم told them, you laugh at Ibn Masood's skinny legs but I swear by Allah those skinny legs on the Judgement day will be heavier than Uhud's mountain!
That mountain is 9km or so - a very high mountain!
This is what Islam is all about - the faith!
The Prophet also said, the obese corpulent fat man on the Judgement day will come big and fat, he will be put on the scale... (each human has three scales), Allah will set up a scale of justice on the Judgement day and everyone will have three scales:
- One scale for himself.
- The other scale for his deeds.
- The third scale for his record of deeds.
After the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said that about Ibn Masood he went on to say on the Judgement day the obese corpulent fat man will be put on the scale and he will weigh the weight of just a wing of a mosquito, this big fat man will weigh just a wing of a mosquito, on the other hand you have Ibn Masood who was extremely skinny yet on the scales heavier than mount Uhud!
Look at that - it's not about what you wear, your weight, the prestige that you have in the world, it's all about the faith in the heart - that's what it's all about. People will go according to their good deeds!
